Reiki- Before, Receiving, & After a Session

Once you have found your Reiki Practitioner, you can now ask the question What is going to happen before, during and after?

BEFORE

*You may want to go to the restroom before you start, this way your session does not get interrupted, and you will be able to lie down comfortably.

*There are two settings that the Reiki Practitioner will have, and you can choose which one you would like. You can choose from a silence session or a relaxing and calming music session.

*If you feel uncomfortable or shy about being touched, ask your practitioner to show you the hand placements before getting started, this way you know what to expect.

* During the consultation, you and your practitioner should have gone over any issues with breathing and lying positions. Make sure you mention anything that makes you feel uncomfortable or if an area is painful to touch. Always let your practitioner know what is going on with you and your health to treat you better.

*Let your practitioner know what your intention is and what your primary focus is.

DURING/RECEIVING

*You may start off in a laying position or a sitting position, depends on clients comfort level. The session has now started. You should be laying or sitting comfortably, with your eyes closed.

*You will begin to feel your practitioners hands, you can sometimes feel a temperature change in the client's hands and through your body.

*As the session progresses, you will feel more relaxed. If you become uncomfortable, you can adjust your position at any time. Be sure to ask for anything that will add to your comforts, such as additional support under your knees or a blanket. This is your special time, and your practitioner is there to help you.

*You and your practitioner should have a primary focus and intention. During this Reiki session, this is what it is all about.

*Don't try to relax. Let Reiki Energy do the work. Let yourself be free and acceptance of this beautiful energy.

*You state will shift naturally, you may not even know that it is happening.

*Just enjoy yourself, feel the touch, feel the music, and breath.

AFTER

*Reiki Masters are not doctors and cannot give a diagnosis, please do not expect a diagnosis.

*You may get some suggestion of after-care and a next session plan.

*You may feel refreshed

*You may feel more tired in the evening than usual (this is not a negative sign, it is a sign of your body's natural healing itself.)

*You may feel calmer

*You may receive mental clarity

*You may sleep well

So many people experience different things both physically and mentally. It also depends on the intention and focus of the session.

Once you have experienced your first session, the next question is, how often should I receive a Reiki Session?

*Your schedule and budget is always the first question for yourself.

*Your practitioner may suggest a series of sessions

*Most often 4 sessions are recommended

*If you have a server health challenge usually Reiki sessions should be in 4 sessions, one after another for 4 days.

**Note, you do not have to get all four from your practitioner, you can do it yourself or with another practitioner. The choice is yours!
