Anxiety and Stress? Reiki can help


Are you suffering from anxiety? Do you feel like your distance from your family? Does your daily life schedule make you feel overwhelmed and stressed? If you answered yes to any of those questions, keep reading and let me help you feel free from your emotions.

Throughout my years of doing Reiki, I have grown to have the passion in helping people that are suffering from anxiety and stress. I have seen first hand what Reiki can do for people with anxiety and stress. When you are dealing with anxiety and stress, you tend to be more connected with yourself because you know that you feel this way. By you being connected and want help, you are more likely to accept my healing and benefit from it.

So why does Reiki help anxiety and stress?

Reiki varies from person to person and session by session. Reiki session promotes the deep feeling of relaxation and peace. Some clients feel tingling in all or some parts of the body. There are some clients have visual imagery. Our body has two responses, the sympathetic and parasympathetic. Sympathetic is when our body is in fight or flight mode and when our body is in that mode we can get tense and develop anxiety and stress. A parasympathetic mode is where your body is at a rest and digest mode. This is where we want your body to be. In this state, our body can heal. Reiki assists in releasing deep-seated tension, aids in detoxification help balance mental and emotional states.

When you start to feel anxiety and stress you usually only focus on that feeling, and it just becomes overpowering. It is what we are taught to do. When can you recall being taught to relax and breath through your stresses? You usually get told "suck it up; it will pass" or something similar to that. I mean this is how we are taught, so now we need to change that pattern. We hold on to so much past trauma and issues. We just let all that build up inside us and allow it to control our emotions. Reiki will release these tensions and emotions.

Reiki Session With our focus and intention of releasing all that is causing you anxiety and stress make all the difference. It is our intention that heals us. It is our wants and beliefs that get us to our full healing potential. After the session, you may notice some changes. Some of these changes can be

  • Changes in there mind and body

  • the feeling of rebalancing over the next few days or even weeks

  • a physical shift like a restful sleep

  • a more relaxed feeling in the body

  • mental and emotional changes like feeling calmer

  • more focused

  • spiritual changes

  • feeling more grounded

Some people will feel discomfort later that day, which is also good. This can be a sign that your body is trying to rebalance itself. Negative emotions could be coming to the surface and could start to release.

What can you do? If your anxiety and stress have just started, this may be something you can do 2 or 3 times a month to maintain clarity. But, if you have been suffering for years, you may need to practice 1x a week to 3x a week. Just depends on your situation. Every client is different and has their own treatment plan.

What can you do at home? Reiki is hands-on healing. You can receive through others and you can also receive through yourself. Taking a Reiki self-healing class is a great way to start. Let me offer some things in the meantime.

There is no right or wrong way to work with Reiki. For stress, sit in a comfortable position. Close your eyes and put your hands on top of your head, fingertips touching. Breath deeply in through your nose and out through your mouth. Now bring intention and focus to your hands and say "I am free of my stress and anxiety. I am calm and safe." Continue to breath and relax and repeat until you feel entirely at peace, give yourself at least 2 minutes.
